some couples make a mountain feel even bigger just by standing in front of it. tu and enoch are exactly that kind of couple. they’re warm, easy to be around, and so clearly each other’s favorite person that i barely had to direct anything. all i had to do was stay close and notice the moments as they happened.
we met in rocky mountain national park in the last stretch of the day, when the light turns soft and gold and everything slows down. if you’ve never watched golden hour settle over the rockies, it’s hard to describe. the peaks glow, the air gets quiet, and suddenly the whole park feels like it’s holding its breath with you.
that’s the light we wanted, because tu and enoch wanted photos that felt real. no stiff poses, no performing. just the two of them, laughing, wandering, and being wonderfully themselves. my favorite moment was when they stopped mid-walk, completely unprompted, and just leaned into each other while the light spilled over the ridge behind them. i put my camera up and didn’t say a word.
what i love most about engagement sessions is that they’re a chance to just be together before the big day, with someone holding space for you. by the end, tu and enoch were completely relaxed, which is exactly how they’ll feel on their wedding day, too.
tu + enoch, thank you for trusting me with this chapter of your story. i’m so excited for everything ahead of you.
