there’s a certain kind of couple who make fall feel even cozier just by walking into it. jack and sydney are exactly that. they’re kind, playful, and so obviously each other’s best friend that the camera almost felt like a guest at their date. all i had to do was stay close and notice the little things as they happened.
we spent the afternoon in boulder canyon, where the creek runs alongside towering granite walls and the trees do their golden, glowing thing in october. the air was crisp, the light was warm and low, and everything felt quiet in the best way. it’s one of my favorite places in the foothills, and it looked its best for these two.
jack and sydney wanted photos that felt like them, not like a checklist of poses. so we wandered. we stopped by the water, climbed up on the rocks, and let the conversation go wherever it wanted. somewhere between the creek and the trees, jack said something that made sydney laugh so hard she had to hold onto him to keep standing. that’s the frame i’m still smiling about.
engagement sessions are one of my favorite things because they let you practice being in front of the camera with someone who’s on your side. by the end, jack and sydney had totally relaxed into it, which is exactly how they’ll feel when their wedding day arrives.
jack + sydney, thank you for trusting me with this season of your story. i’m so excited for what’s ahead.
